Premier League Enterprise Challenge

Now in its tenth year, the Premier League Enterprise Challenge is an exciting national business and enterprise competition for young people in years 8, 9 and 10.  The Challenge offers pupils a fantastic opportunity to work closely with The Huddersfield Town Foundation and come up with a solution to a real life football based problem, with the winning team at the Club heats representing Huddersfield Town in the Regional Play Offs.

The Aims

To engage and inspire marginalised groups of young people identified as underachieving or at risk of not reaching their full potential.

To increase awareness and understanding of business, enterprise and/or entrepreneurship, particularly in relation to the operations of a professional football club.

To improve enterprise and life skills in participating students.

Format

Challenge brief: the Premier League’s Executive Chairman tasks students to work on a real brief.

Schools: interested schools will be required to select a team of five students who have been identified as under achieving or at risk of not achieving their potential.

Working with teams: The Huddersfield Town Foundation will deliver six hours of guided learning to help teams respond to the brief (Sept- Dec 2018*).

Club heats: a club heat will be held at the John Smiths Stadium where each school will have the opportunity to pitch their ideas in front of a panel of judges. A winner will be selected to represent Huddersfield Town in the next round (Dec 2018*).

Regional play-offs: winners will compete against other local football clubs for a place at the final (Jan/Feb 2018*).

Final: where teams are successful in the play offs, they will be invited to attend the National Final (April2018*).
