Premier League Kicks

The Huddersfield Town Foundation’s Premier League Kicks programme launched in March 2018 and has made huge progress to date. The programme provides free opportunities for young people aged between 8 – 18 years who live within Kirklees.

A youth work approach is taken to all Kicks sessions, where participants are encouraged to input into the design and development of these sessions. Youth voice sessions feature as part of the programme which are educational workshops to broaden young people’s awareness and knowledge on topics including aspirations, role models and self awareness.

Our Premier League Kicks programme offers the following opportunities for our young people:

  • National, regional and local competitions to compete and display their skills
  • Free-to-play sport on a weekly basis
  • Character building to improve their personal skills including: confidence; self-esteem; punctuality; ambition and social awareness

The Town Foundation delivers Premier League Kicks at two main sites: Leeds Road Sports Complex in Huddersfield and St John Fisher Academy in Dewsbury.

Sessions are split into age groups, with a further session specifically for girls and a pan-disability session for young people with a disability and/or special educational needs.

There is no need to pre-register for a Premier League Kicks session. However, we advise that you get in touch before attending for the first time, just to ensure that the session hasn’t been cancelled for any reason.
