Partner Pedals In Aid Of Foundation

TFS to donate funds to Foundation from bike ride
A team of cyclists from Club Partner Total Foodservice (TFS) will take on a two day challenge during mid-May to raise funds for the Town Foundation.
The team will consist of staff old and new from the company as well as suppliers and Town’s Corporate Fundraising Officer Mandy Taylor.
The 150 mile route along the West Yorkshire Cycle Route will see the team take in the sights of Haworth, Ilkley and Hemsworth, which are not known for their flat terrain!
From their starting point at the Darrington Premier Inn just off the A1, they will head anti clockwise via Pontefract, Castleford, Boston Spa, Bramhope, and Ilkley before stopping overnight at the YHA in Haworth. The following day will be a gruelling start over the Oxenhope Moor through to Hebden, Holmfirth and eventually finding some flat land once again and finishing off back at the Premier Inn in Darrington.
Food wholesalers TFS have been instrumental in the running of the Town Foundation’s Early Kick-Off Breakfast Clubs and have ensured that healthy and nutritious breakfasts are delivered to the eight clubs in operation across Kirklees.
TFS Company Purchasing Manager Jason Sheard – who will lead the team on their two day challenge – commented:
“The co-ordination of the event is in itself a mammoth task but I know it will be worthwhile as our team of 12 aims to raise much needed funds for The Huddersfield Town Foundation.
“I am keen to know where I am going over the event weekend so that I don’t get the team lost and add unnecessary miles to what is already a challenging distance in just two days. So I have been completing sections of the course on days off and am now realising the enormity of the task we have taken on with some serious hills along the course.
“In the last three years the Company Charity Bike ride has raised over £10,000 for three different local charities and I hope that this year once again we can raise a significant sum to really make an impact on the work of Huddersfield Town Foundation.”
Mandy Taylor, Town’s Corporate Fundraising Officer, said:
“Having completed the Pedal for Pounds bike ride last year I was keen to get back on the saddle and face another new adventure. It makes me incredibly proud to have been welcomed to join the TFS team and especially so as all proceeds raised will go directly to the Charity I represent.
“TFS have shown immense support to the Town Foundation and are key to the on-going success of the Early Kick-Off Breakfast Clubs, joining them in this gruelling challenge is the very least I can do to show my gratitude”
To help some of the cyclists train for the challenge, Canalside Sports Complex has given the team members of the company’s Huddersfield depot access to the Stripes Gym free for a month!
The company is currently running raffles, and encouraging their customers and suppliers to sponsor, should you too be able to show your support please visit their online site: http://www.justgiving.com/Total-Foodservice
