Fire Service Backs Town Foundation

Club Partner West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service will raise funds for the Town Foundation and the Fire Fighters Charity through its open day at Huddersfield on Saturday 29 June.

The fun-filled day which will be held between 11am and 4pm at Huddersfield Fire Station, has been running for three decades and will include children’s rides and games as well as refreshments such as ice creams.

The Fire Service will put on several displays including a simulated chip pan fire and an aerial appliance display along with tours of the station and stalls, whereas the Town Foundation will also be present alongside the Club’s ‘Football in the Community’ team.

To add to the fundraising effort, the event is being supported by Barclays Bank – which has agreed to double the amount raised for the two charities on the day.

Stuart Ambler, Barclays Branch Manager of Huddersfield, said:

“At Barclays we are committed to communities and we were delighted to join in the day’s activities and match pound for pound the funds raised. This is a great opportunity to make a real and lasting difference to the local community.”

The Town Foundation’s Corporate Fundraising Officer Mandy Taylor, who is pictured above with Jean Gledhill and Tony Williams of Huddersfield Fire Station and Stuart Ambler of Barclays Huddersfield, added:

“It’s wonderful for the charity that the West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service will donate proceeds from its open day to the Town Foundation and I hope as many people as possible can get down to the station on 29 June and support the activities. There should be something on offer for every member of the family!”
