Foundation Cycle Challenge Completed

A dedicated team of cyclists, comprising of staff, associates and friends from Town’s partner Total Foodservice and the Town Foundation’s Mandy Taylor, completed 150 miles on their bikes to raise money for the charity over the weekend!

The team completed the ‘West Yorkshire Cycle Route’ during a rainy Saturday and Sunday, which roughly circles the county boundary – including some challenging rides through the Pennine hills around Marsden, Hebden Bridge and Haworth.

On Sunday the team was joined by Vicki Davenport and Angie Teal, who cycled on a tandem from Howarth to Huddersfield to show their support for the charity.

So far over £2,000 has been raised via Total Foodservice’s JustGiving page and donations are still coming in – visit www.justgiving.com/total-foodservice

The team is pictured at Marsden, with Corporate Fundraising Officer Mandy Taylor in the blue Foundation jacket; she commented:

“We’ve had to endure some tough weather and difficult terrain over the weekend, but the superb amount that has already been raised by this bike ride has made it all worthwhile.

“Total Foodservice has been an invaluable partner to the Foundation over the last few months through their support of the Early Kick-Off breakfast clubs as a supplier and now this money will allow us to further this project, which is particularly useful with an 11th club in the pipeline.

“On behalf of the Foundation, I would like to thank the staff at Total Foodservice for their incredible efforts.”
