Greene Becomes Foundation Patron

Siobhan Greene has today become the latest Patron of the Town Foundation.

Born in Huddersfield, Siobhan is ITV Studios Director of Entertainment, having previously run Simon Cowell’s television company where she was the Executive Producer of The X Factor both here and in the US as well the Executive Producer of Britain’s Got Talent.

She has previously engaged in charity work for Breast Cancer Care, having been diagnosed with the illness herself in July 2010 before undergoing treatment and going into remission.

The Town Foundation’s Corporate Fundraising Officer Mandy Taylor today welcomed Siobhan to the charity:

“Siobhan is one of the most inspirational people I’ve ever come across and we’re delighted she has agreed to become a Patron of the Town Foundation.

“Through her own personal battle with cancer she continued to work and her recent talk at the Club’s ‘Umph’ entrepreneurial event highlighted her incredible career path.

“The charity aims to make a difference in the lives of youngsters across our region and there is no better role model than Siobhan for what can be achieved if you have the determination.

“Siobhan has already shown a genuine keenness to get involved in the ‘Early Kick-Off’ breakfast club project as her busy work schedule will allow and we’re delighted to have her on board.”

Siobhan added:

“I am deeply honoured to be asked to be a Patron of the Town Foundation. To be a part of something so positive and that is making such a real difference to the lives of children and young people from my home town is an indescribable feeling.

“I am here to roll up my sleeves and put my heart and soul into bringing even greater success to such a fantastic cause.”

The Town Foundation aims to improve the life of youngsters across the Huddersfield and Kirklees region.

A registered charity, the Foundation is the vision of Huddersfield Town Chairman, Dean Hoyle and aims to use the power of Huddersfield Town and football as a way to engage with youngsters across the region to improve the lives of the young people that need it the most.

The first official project of the Foundation, the ‘Early Kick-Off’ Breakfast Club, has already launched across the county. The Foundation has joined forces with several organisations such as Total Foodservice, Kirklees College, Kirklees Council, Caterer’s Choice, Stafflex and KidPremiership to supply schools in the football club’s heartland with a free breakfast and NVQ level food hygiene training support.

‘Early Kick-Off’ has already provided over 36,000 free breakfasts at 10 schools across the region completely free of charge.
