Walkers Complete Three Peaks!

Chairman and Manager complete challenge with fellow fundraisers

Huddersfield Town Chairman Dean Hoyle and Manager Mark Robins joined forces with Club Partners and fundraisers to raise up to £20,000 for the Town Foundation!

A 25 strong squad of walkers tackled the Three Peaks last Friday in aid of the Club’s Charity.

The fundraisers tackled Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough an expedition of 24.5 miles! The walkers set off from Horton-in-Ribblesdale and along with Dean and Mark, Town Directors Ann Hough and Sean Jarvis and Corporate Fundraiser Mandy Taylor took to the hills.

The monies raised through sponsorship and donations will be used to ensure that youngsters within the Foundation’s Early Kick-Off Breakfast scheme can enjoy a day out at the seaside; and those who participated will have the opportunity to join the children on the day.

Chairman Dean Hoyle, who along with his fellow walkers completed the challenge in less than 12 hours, said:

“We kept the numbers down to see if it can become an event every year and open it up to more people – it was fabulously organised.

“The views were fantastic, there was wonderful camaraderie along the way and it was a great community event. Lots of people who did the Three Peaks Challenge would now like to come and help out during our day at the seaside. At the moment it’s looking like we might go to Filey.”

Corporate Fundraiser Mandy Taylor added:

“I would like to thank our sponsors Club Partner FAB who gifted each of our walkers a walking pole, which proved to be invaluable on many of the steep ascends and descends. Whilst the flapjacks provided by Club Partner Total Foodservices gave us a much-needed energy boost.

“Finally, high praise must go to Phil and his team from Kuta Outdoors for ensuring that we had a thoroughly enjoyable and most importantly safe adventure.”

The Foundation currently serves 1,000 free breakfasts every day at 16 schools across Kirklees – click HERE to donate!
