Over 200 Ladies Lunch For The Town Foundation

Over 200 ladies descended upon the John Smith’s Stadium on Friday afternoon to attend the Town Foundation’s annual ‘Ladies who Lunch’ event, sponsored by Louise Woollard LLP.

Starting at 11am, attendees arrived to enjoy a spot of shopping in the boutique pop-up shops located in the corporate hospitality boxes, including the likes of Vivaldi and Peters.

The afternoon then progressed onto the fashion show, where models showcased the clothes of many exhibitors. It was a star-studded line-up on the catwalk, with models including Town Foundation Trustees Sean Jarvis, Ann Hough and Caroline Lee alongside Foundation Patron Andrew Gale, Huddersfield Town Club Ambassador Andy Booth and other Huddersfield Town staff.

A tombola and raffle held on the afternoon raised just over £3,000. When combined with the mini-auction, sponsorship of the event from Louise Woollard LLP, match funding from Barclays and other proceeds from the event, ‘Ladies who Lunch’ will have raised over £10,000 for the charity!

That money will go towards the work that the Town Foundation undertakes in our community to improve the lives of children and young people, such as the ‘Early Kick-Off’ breakfast club project. That initiative now serves over 1,000 healthy and nutritious meals to young people across 15 breakfast clubs every single morning!

The Town Foundation’s Fundraising Manager Mandy Taylor commented:

“It was a remarkable day; each and every lady was ‘dressed to the nines’ and in the spirit to have a super day and raise vital funds for the charity.

“From singing waiters to tots dressed as snowmen, everyone who performed, modelled, exhibited or offered their time and skill completely free of charge on the day ensured that our audience had a day to remember.

“On behalf of the charity, I would like to offer special thanks to numerous individuals and organisations including our Sponsor Louise Woollard LLP, each and every supplier, exhibitor and retailer, dance schools and volunteer model who kindly contributed to the success on the day.”
