Shake Up Your Wake Up!

It’s National Breakfast Week (between 25 and 31 January 2015) – and the Town Foundation is heavily involved!

Town’s official registered charity, the Town Foundation is supporting the week by highlighting the exceptional work that has taken place in our local area through the ‘Early Kick-Off’ breakfast club project (EKO).

The EKO project now serves over 1,000 healthy and nutritious breakfasts to local youngsters each and every morning, which has been made possible by the generous donations of local businesses and individuals across the area.

Since its inception two years ago, the initiative has now served over 215,000 breakfasts!

Mandy Taylor, The Town Foundation’s Fundraising Manager, commented:

“It is vital for us to celebrate National Breakfast week as we know first-hand how important the first meal of the day is for children.

“Since launching the Town Foundation Breakfast Clubs, attendance levels in schools have soared; behaviour and learning have improved; social skills developed and many parents and carers have now also become active volunteers and gained invaluable experiences and a feeling of self-worth.”

The Town Foundation wants fans to get involved too! Send your #BreakfastSelfie on Twitter at @townfoundation between 25 and 31 January, or even make a donation – simply donate via this site, call Mandy on 01484 484179 or email mandy.taylor@htafc.com.

There has already been plenty to report on from Breakfast Week throughout the week, including visits to breakfast clubs from Chairman Dean Hoyle, Manager Chris Powell, Assistant Manager Alex Dyer and players Joel Lynch, Sean Scannell, William Boyle and Jake Charles.
