Local Businesses Have A Curry For Kids

Over 70 Huddersfield professionals got together over a curry on Monday 20 April to raise funds in aid of the Town Foundation.

Hosted by Sheards Accountancy, the event held at the Chilli Lounge raised a grand total of £550 for the charity, which aims to improve the quality of life for young people across Huddersfield and the West Yorkshire area through a variety of activities, primarily its hugely successful ‘Early Kick-Off’ breakfast clubs.

Mandy Taylor of the Town Foundation commented:

“This is a fantastic start to our charity partnership with Sheards. The amount raised on the evening will ensure that over 1,000 healthy breakfasts – currently the equivalent of every child in all 16 breakfast clubs – can be served.”

Carolyn Atkinson, Director at Sheards Accountancy, added:

“It’s an honour to see so many individuals and businesses supporting both us and the Town Foundation.

“The event was a great success and we are delighted that our first fundraising effort will have an immediate impact on the running of the Foundation.

“We’re looking forward to future fundraising initiatives and having a positive impact on both the Foundation and the families it supports.”
