Htafc Sports Scientist Takes On Fellsman Challenge

Huddersfield Town’s Sports Scientist, Stuart Heaviside, has pledged his support to the Town Foundation by signing up for the Fellsman 2016 in which he will raise funds for the charity.

The Fellsman is a high level traverse covering more than 60 miles over very hard rugged moorland. The event climbs over 11,000 feet in its path from Ingleton to Threshfield in the Yorkshire Dales.

Stuart commented: “Having never done anything like this before, it is going to be both a physical and psychological challenge for me to complete. I got into fell running about 6 years ago when my father-in-law introduced it to me.

“Ever since I have trained religiously on the hills of Yorkshire and thought it was about time I challenged myself to do something new and ambitious. In preparation for this, I am also doing a couple of shorter distance races to help my physical development.”

Stuart will be taking part in the following races as part of his training for the big event which takes place on 16-17th April 2016.

Saturday 6th February 2016: Wadsworth Trog Fell Race (20 miles)

Saturday 12th March 2016: Haworth Hobble Fell Race (33 miles)
