Terry The Terrier Surprises Youngsters At Brand-new Breakfast Club

Young pupils at Headfield Junior School had their breakfast with a very special guest on Monday 1 October 2018 as the Town Foundation opened its 34th ‘Early Kick-Off’ Breakfast Club.

Huddersfield Town mascot Terry the Terrier surprised around 150 children who all enjoyed a healthy start to their day.

Terry was very popular with the youngsters and received a number of high fives. After posing for photographs with both children and staff, he then showed off some of his favourite dance moves!

The children tucked into toast, crumpets, cereal, fruit and juice throughout the morning before starting their school day.

Whilst eating their breakfast, the youngsters chatted with Town Foundation staff alongside Jeanette Cartwright from Kirklees Catering and Foundation trustee Caroline Lee about what they enjoy at school and their upcoming day.

Not only did they have fun with Terry the Terrier, they also played a number of board games including Guess Who, Jenga and Connect 4. Some children also played football outside!

The Town Foundation’s Head of Operations and Events, Julie Sheffield, commented:

“We were delighted to open another Breakfast Club at Headfield Junior School.

“You could see how happy the children were when they saw Terry the Terrier and they certainly enjoyed playing games with him.

“It’s great to see all the youngsters tucking into the healthy breakfasts, playing board games together and enjoying themselves.

“The Breakfast Clubs are going from strength-to-strength and I’m delighted we’re continuing to make a difference in the community.”
