Huddersfield Town’s Big Sleep Out 2019 has to date been supported by three local businesses with the funds raised helping to tackle homelessness in our local community and surrounding areas.

Bastion Estates, Jay-Be Smart Sleep and BM Packaging have all kindly shown their support to the Town Foundation and the Club by sponsoring this year’s event.

Stephen Durrans, Managing Director at Jay-Be® commented:

“We can only imagine the traumatic and physical toll homelessness must take on people who have no choice but to sleep rough, night after night.

As a bed and mattress manufacturer we regularly highlight the importance of a good night’s sleep, taking steps to educate the consumer about how poor sleep can negatively impact people’s health and wellbeing.

Homelessness is a crisis in any town or city and we hope we can do our part in raising awareness and much needed funds.”

Guy Davis from Bastion Estates added:

“Like most, my business and family life is very busy and there often seems little time to reflect, but when Bastion Estates were asked to be one of the sponsors for the planned Big Sleep Out event at the John Smith’s Stadium with other Huddersfield Town fans, board members and sponsors we didn’t hesitate! We sponsored it last year, so we automatically said yes again.”

The John Smith’s Stadium will open its doors to a record number of supporters and local dignitaries to raise money for causes supporting homeless people in our local community under the banner of the Town Foundation. Those taking part will brave the outdoors for the night and sleep in the stands and the concourse.

The event will take place on the evening of Friday 8 March into the morning of Saturday 9 March 2019, with Huddersfield Town hosting AFC Bournemouth later in the day.

“The support we’ve had for the Big Sleep Out 2019 has been outstanding and we will have even more taking part than last year.

“I would like to say a huge thank to all the sponsors for their support in helping us tackle homelessness in the local area.

“We want to make an even bigger contribution through the Big Sleep Out this year. I’d urge all supporters who aren’t taking part to donate online or to use the text service. Every donation small or large makes a massive difference.”
