GENEROSITY OF TOWN FANS HELPS THE FOUNDATION

The generosity of the Huddersfield Town supporters shone through at Saturday’s Premier League game against Watford as around £3,700 was collected for the Town Foundation from around the John Smith’s Stadium.

Huddersfield Town showcased the excellent work done by the Town Foundation at the game and raised money for its successful Breakfast Clubs initiative.

A range of events and activities were put in motion at the annual Town Foundation match to expose the great work done by the Club’s official charity and to support the Early Kick-Off Breakfast Clubs which provide a free breakfast for local children at 40 schools across the local area.

Town’s First Team squad wore exclusive Town Foundation shirts against the Hornets and you can still buy one! The match-worn shirt will also be signed, and you can bid by CLICKING HERE! The bidding process is still open, with the auction finishing on Wednesday 24 April at 3pm UK time.

As always on a match day, supporters had a chance to donate items to the food banks. This, once again, was a success as over 500 items were collected, which was greatly appreciated. Special Easter treats were donated too.

The Terrier – Town’s match day programme was Town Foundation themed, with every 50p of the programme price going towards the Town Foundation, thanks to programme printer Ignition.

It also showed off a magnificent augmented reality cover that showed how the Town Foundation affects people in the local community.

Before the game at the Perrys Fanzone, a number of events took place as per usual, including a raffle where the winner took home a signed Huddersfield Monopoly Board, with ALL proceeds going to the Town Foundation.

In partnership with the Huddersfield Town Foundation, Musica Kirklees have beenworking with students to create new football chants as a method of musical composition.

The overall winner for 2019 was Marsden Junior School, who performed their chant pitch side at half-time. The chant also appeared on the big screen and clap banners.

The usual Golden Gamble lottery took place, with ALL proceeds going to the Town Foundation. One lucky supporter won the Gold Prize, which was an all-expenses paid trip to London!

“It’s absolutely fantastic that we could use the powerful tool of football to show what a difference the Town Foundation is making in the community.

“I hope all the supporters could see through our wide range of activities how we are benefitting people in our local area and we hope that you will continue to support us.

“For me, the Town Foundation game went really well and I’m sure we will see a lot of money raised for our highly successful Early Kick-Off Breakfast Clubs.

“I’d like to thank all Town supporters who donated. You really do help to make a difference!”
