RAISE FUNDS WHILST SHOPPING ONLINE THROUGH GIVE AS YOU LIVE!

Thanks to Give as You Live, you can now turn a percentage of your online shop into a donation to the Huddersfield Town Foundation!

Launched in 2010, the aim of the platform is to provide an easy way to raise free funds for charity just by shopping online.

As members of the UK Fundraising Regulator, they work with over 200,000 charities to help raise vital funds – with the online element being more helpful than ever due to COVID-19.

To get started, you need to create a free account on the Give As You Live website. From there, you can find our page by searching for Huddersfield Town Foundation Limited in the search bar.

Once on our page, click the ‘shop and raise’ button, which will take you to a screen with the 4,000+ national and international retailers they work with.

Stores are separated into categories, examples being Electricals, Clothing and Accessories and Food and Drink.

Each store also turns a different percentage of your online spend into a donation, which can be as high as 5%.

Recognisable names include Ebay, Argos, John Lewis, Asos, Just Eat, Sports Direct, JD, WH Smith, B&Q, Carphone Warehouse and many more.

In addition to traditional stores, there is also the option to compare Insurance premiums, Gas and Electricity tariffs, Phone and Broadband contracts and Holidays and Flights.

All of this can be done either through the website or app, which is available for iPhone and iPad. You can also enable the donation reminder function, which will provide a pop-up notification when you visit a website that can be used to donate.

Since the start of COVID-19, the Town Foundation has received almost £9,500 in donations and grants from the local community.

The Foundation would like to place on record its gratitude to everybody that has donated. We would also like to note that there is still work to be done, with most of its fundraising events in 2020 being cancelled or postponed.

All proceeds from the Town Foundation’s fundraising schemes are used to maintain projects which benefit the Kirklees community.
