PL KICKS YORKSHIRE CUP FIFA TOURNAMENT GETS UNDERWAY!

Two of the Huddersfield Town Foundation’s Premier League Kicks participants kicked off in the FIFA 20 Yorkshire Cup on Tuesday 23 June!

Jayde, 16, and Troy, 15, took on their respective opponents from the Sheffield Wednesday Community Programme (SWFCCP) and Leeds United Foundation.

The tournament, which was initiated by Club Doncaster Foundation and is being played on PS4, gives youngsters the chance to engage with like-minded people from across the county whilst enjoying a competitive game of FIFA.

10 players are taking part in the competition, with two from the Town Foundation, Reds in the Community (Barnsley FC), Leeds United Foundation, SWFCCP and Club Doncaster Foundation.

Each player will play every other player once in a mini league set up, before the top two go head to head to determine the overall winner.

In lieu of the postponed EURO 2020, the players have each chosen one international team to play as throughout the tournament.

In speaking of the tournament, the Town Foundation’s Evan Hall said:

“We’re excited to have some of our PL Kicks participants representing us in the FIFA 20 Yorkshire Cup.

“It is great that we can keep a fun and competitive element of PL Kicks running virtually for now, with the hope of returning to face to face delivery as soon as it is safe to do so. Fingers crossed for a Jayde vs Troy final!”

The tournament is due to finish during the week commencing Monday 29 June 2020, so keep an eye on our website and social channels to find out how both players get on.
