FOUNDATION LOGO TO FEATURE ON HUDDERSFIELD TOWN SHIRT AGAINST WEST BROMWICH ALBION

The Huddersfield Town Foundation is delighted to announce its logo will feature on the front of the 2019/20 Huddersfield Town home shirts against West Bromwich Albion on Friday 17 July 2020.

After the Sky Bet Championship match, which will be broadcast live on Sky Sports, the shirts issued to the players in the match day squad will be signed by their respective player and auctioned off.

Proceeds raised will be distributed to projects across Kirklees, including our ‘Early Kick-Off’ Breakfast Clubs, Wildcats football sessions and Sporting Memories, which aims to help people with dementia and/or social isolation.

At the Foundation, our aim is to create an inclusive and welcoming community with the Club and Foundation at its heart.

The COVID-19 pandemic has of course presented challenges, but we have continued to support vulnerable local people since the introduction of ‘lockdown’.

In the period between 21 March and 11 July, 11,100 breakfasts will have been served to children still attending school because one or both of their parents are key workers.

Hundreds of Primary School children have had access to our Terry the Terrier themed activity book, including Huddersfield-based tasks in Geography, History and Maths.

Amongst other things, we have facilitated calls with supporters from members of the First Team squad, supported children moving into High School in September and run numerous competitions via social media.

We must thank the Club’s front of shirt sponsor, Paddy Power, for agreeing to the use of our logo for this match.

On the announcement of the auction, Town Foundation Chief Executive Siobhan Atkinson commented:

“It is great to be able to showcase the Town Foundation logo on the Club’s shirts for this match, as well as advertising our work through some of the Club’s other platforms.

“COVID-19 has had a significant impact on our ability to host fundraising events, so the extra funds raised from auctioning off the shirts will be a welcome boost to our team.”

Huddersfield Town Chairman Phil Hodgkinson added:

“The Foundation has worked tirelessly to continue its work with the people of Kirklees through these difficult times, so we are delighted to be able to dedicate this fixture to the charity and support the local community.

“We hope the fact that these shirts are unique with the addition of the NHS logo will make them desirable to bid on, raising vital funds for the Club’s official charity.”

The auction will go live at kick-off (5.30pm, Friday 17 July) and will close at 5.30pm on Tuesday 21 July.

Should there be a bid in the last 15 minutes of the auction, the clock will reset to 15 minutes remaining and will continue to do so until there is no further interest.

It is being hosted by Match Worn Shirt, who have previously worked with us to auction shirts bearing the Poppy emblem.

Each shirt will come with a certificate of authenticity and will be shipped free of charge. There is also the option to choose from a number of framing options, should you wish.

It is important to note that purchasing a match worn shirt does not impose any health risks. Using unique UV-C technology, Match Worn are able to remove bacteria and DNA from the shirts whilst guaranteeing the conservation of grass stains, mud etc.

Supporters will need to create a free account with Match Worn to access the auction. To visit the page, please click here.
