11 Nov SANTA STROLL EVENT GIVES FAMILIES CHANCE TO SUPPORT THE TOWN FOUNDATION

This December, the Huddersfield Town Foundation is inviting you to take part in its #SantaStroll fundraising event!

Taking place on Sunday 13 December 2020, the event involves walking a mile from your doorstep in any festive wear imaginable.

Whether that be a Christmas jumper, elf costume or Santa’s outfit, the event is designed for families to enjoy taking part in an event together whilst raising vital funds for the Town Foundation’s work.

The event is free to take part in, with the Foundation asking that all participants aim to raise a minimum of £50.

Every adult that does so and links to our special Christmas Appeal Just Giving page before midday on Tuesday 8 December 2020 will receive a free blue Santa suit.

In addition, every child under the age of 10 that registers will receive a free pair of reindeer ears to wear on the day.

Every participant will also receive a certificate as a sign of our appreciation.

Participants will need to set up their own fundraising page and link it to the Foundation’s Just Giving account – instructions on how to do this will be emailed to you after registering.

You will also be emailed a traditional sponsorship form which you can print off and use, should that be easier.

The #SantaStroll is just one of several initiatives the Town Foundation is set to facilitate as part of its first ever Christmas appeal.

Designed to take the place of cancelled events such as the Foundation Ball and Ladies Lunch, the Christmas appeal looks to raise money to support the Town Foundation’s project work across Kirklees and Calderdale.

Those projects include #HTFBreakfastClub, which has served more than 1.75 million free breakfasts to local school children since 2012.

We also run several key Health initiatives, including a weekly Mental Health Football session which is now being delivered digitally and Sporting Memories, in which people at risk of isolation come together to discuss sport.

Our provision within schools is also continuing, with the Foundation supporting both primary and secondary aged children on projects such as Premier League Primary Stars and Steps to Success.
