SANTA STROLL RAISES MORE THAN £2000 FOR CHRISTMAS APPEAL!

On Sunday 13 December 2020 the Huddersfield Town Foundation held its inaugural Santa Stroll fundraising event, raising £2,200 and counting!

More of its supporters and staff are set to take on the challenge throughout the week ahead, meaning the total is only set to rise.

Organised in lieu of its cancelled mass participation events, the Santa Stroll gave people the chance to raise money whilst getting active by themselves or with their family.

Participants were challenged to walk at least a mile in their local area wearing their best festive wear, with everybody who raised over £50 given a free blue Santa suit.

Although the weather wasn’t the best in the Huddersfield area that didn’t put a dampener on people’s spirits, and we enjoyed receiving some fantastic group photos from participants.

On the event, Foundation Fundraising Executive Lisa Bottomley commented:

“I’m extremely grateful to all of our Santa Stroll participants, who braved the weather to hit the streets in support of the Town Foundation.

“To raise such a significant amount of money on an event that we have never done before is testament to the commitment of our supporters and staff.

“Anybody who may have missed the event can still take part and connect to our Just Giving page – any donation regardless of size would be hugely appreciated!”

The event is part of the Town Foundation’s inaugural Christmas Appeal, which was organised in lieu of its traditional fundraising events that had to be cancelled earlier this year.

Anybody wishing to support the appeal can do so via the dedicated Just Giving page – https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/FoundationChristmasAppeal2020.

Supporters can also bid on Huddersfield Town’s match worn shirts from last week’s 2-0 victory over Sheffield Wednesday. The auction is live here and closes at 2pm on Saturday 19 December 2020.
