OPEN SESSIONS GIVE YOUNGSTERS A TASTE OF FOUNDATION’S WOMEN’S FOOTBALL ACADEMY

The Huddersfield Town Foundation’s Women’s Football Academy is holding open training sessions over the coming weeks!

Delivered in partnership with Calderdale College, the Academy gives women between the ages of 16 and 19 the chance to combine study with sport.

The programme launched in 2020, with students able to study any course at the College.

Alongside this, players train twice weekly with the Town Foundation’s FA qualified coaches, who aim to develop them as an individual player as well as building a successful team.

Students represent Huddersfield Town in the EFL Community and Education Football Alliance League, playing teams representing other Premier League and EFL Clubs.

In the 2020/21 season, the team were drawn in the North Central Ladies Division, taking on others such as Manchester City, Preston North End, Sheffield United and Sheffield Wednesday.

The upcoming open sessions give prospective students the chance to train alongside current students and staff, gaining an insight into how the programme runs.

There will also be the opportunity to ask any questions and get a feel for the facilities at Calderdale College, where students will spend the majority of their time over the two-year programme.

Session dates and times are as follows:

Tuesday 6 April: 2pm – 4pm

Tuesday 13 April: 4pm – 6pm

If you would like to take part in either or both, please register via our ONLINE FORM.

Both sessions will take place at Calderdale College’s Inspire Centre, HX1 3XA. The site has various car parks and is also accessible by bus or train. You can find out more details on how to get there HERE.
