TWO EXCITING OPPORTUNITIES TO FURTHER YOUR CAREER IN THE SPORTS INDUSTRY

Students looking for the next step on their education journey should look no further than the Huddersfield Town Foundation’s two foundation level degrees!

As well as having the chance to study at the John Smith’s Stadium, the home of Sky Bet Championship side Huddersfield Town, students are also afforded a wealth of placement opportunities on the Foundation’s community programmes across Kirklees.

Prospective students and their families can learn more in an open evening at the stadium’s Fantastic Media Suite,  5,30pm – 7pm on Friday 4 June. This can be booked HERE.

There are two pathways available to prospective students: Community Football Coaching & Development or Sports Coaching & Development.

Both award-winning two-year courses have been developed in partnership with the University of South Wales and EFL Trust.

They develop the skills and qualities required to work within professional and community sports.

Key modules on the Community Football Coaching & Development pathway include:

  • Football Coaching: Theory to Practice
  • Introduction to Sports Science for Football
  • Football in Society
  • Physical Education and School Sport

Students on this pathway also have the option to complete an extra year of study to obtain a full BSc undergraduate degree.

Key modules on the Sports Coaching & Development pathway include:

  • Introduction to Sports Coaching
  • Managing Sport
  • Project Management
  • Physical Education and School Sport

Students will be predominantly based in Huddersfield but will spend a minimum of five days a year at the University of South Wales’ state of the art coaching and performance centre in Pontypridd, Wales.

One of the main benefits of studying with us is the unrivalled access to placement opportunities, giving students plenty of first-hand experience.

The Foundation delivers community sessions across Kirklees and students have the opportunity to work with children, young adults and adults from a range of backgrounds.

They also get to wear the club badge and represent the community arm of a professional football club, an experience that should inspire and motivate them to achieve.

If you would like to register your interest in studying with the Town Foundation, please contact Education Mentor Brad Fox in the first instance: brad.fox@htafcfoundation.com or 07741 671062.

From there, Brad can have an informal conversation with you about your choice of pathway and provide all the support you need in the application process.
