Ladies in attendance at the latest Fizz Friday Ladies Lunch on Friday 19 November raised a total of £5830 for the Huddersfield Town Foundation!

The event was the Foundation’s first major in-person fundraising event since to onset of the COVID-19 pandemic and was kindly supported by Huddersfield BID.

The 150 guests were treated to a glass of fizz on arrival at the Manor House in Lindley, before having the chance to browse a variety of stalls from independent local businesses.

Huddersfield Town players Aaron Rowe and Pipa were in attendance for selfies and a chat before the group tucked into a delicious two-course meal.

One lucky table was joined by Town Ambassador Michael Hefele for their meal, having won him in a raffle!

The Foundation would like to extend its thanks to Simone Roche MBE, the founder of Northern Power Women, for hosting proceedings on stage.

Throughout the day the ladies heard about the impact the Town Foundation has locally, including hearing personally from two of the charity’s walking footballers Sean Downey and Phil Jesney. There was also an opportunity to re-visit the Terrier in Me video.

Fundraising activities included an auction and raffle, bingo, and Give Yourself A Point fundraising game.

On the event’s success Lisa Bottomley, Fundraising Executive at the Town Foundation commented:

“After the events of the last 18 months, it was brilliant to see so many familiar and new faces together at the Manor House.

“The sustainability of our work relies heavily on fundraising, and this total raised will make a huge difference.

“My thanks go to everybody in attendance for a fantastic afternoon of fun, fizz and fundraising. I hope to see you again in 2022”
