11 Aug Huddersfield Town Foundation travel to Emirates Stadium for Herbert Chapman 100-year anniversary with Arsenal
Huddersfield Town Foundation were invited to the Emirates Stadium by the Arsenal Foundation to attend their ‘Chapmanniversary’ celebrations, recognising the 100-year anniversary of legendary Huddersfield Town Manager Herbert Chapman’s historic move to Arsenal.
The event, which took place on Monday 11 August, saw representatives from Huddersfield Town Foundation and Arsenal Foundation celebrate Chapman, who won two of the three successive titles with Huddersfield, in 1924 and 1925, and two league titles with Arsenal from 1925 to 1934.
This season Huddersfield Town are celebrating the Thrice Champions, the period across the 1920s in which Town won three consecutive First Division titles, the most successful period in the club’s history.
The day-long event included a stadium tour, club museum visit, workshop on Herbert Chapman and a series of friendly football matches between groups from both foundations.
Three groups attended to represent the foundation, including 12 Key-Stage 2 students from Moldgreen Primary School, eight young people from Deighton from the Premier League Kicks programme, and 11 women from the South East Asian community in Dewsbury who engage in football through our Active Through Football programme.

This opportunity has not only deepened our understanding of the sport’s heritage, but also celebrated the shared connections between our two clubs and communities.”
