Carl is CEO and founder of Westwood Management Consulting, a new consulting venture which takes an innovative approach to problem solving.
As a finance professional working at a senior level, Carl has developed a wide-ranging portfolio of experience in various business sectors and organisations helping leaders engage positively with the change process. Organisations include EDF Energy, EON, Northern Gas Networks, The Wates Group, Babcock Rail, Defra, The University of Hull and the NHS.
Carl is passionate about developing and delivering excellence in leadership and management. He is a Chartered Manager and Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) and served for 6 years as the Deputy Chair and Finance Lead for the CMI’s North East, Yorkshire and Humber Regional Board. Carl was shortlisted for CMI’s 2022 Volunteer of Year Award. He is also trustee on the board of Catzero, a charity that seeks to improve the quality of young families in the Humber region.
Carl studied at the University of Hull where he gained an Honours Degree in Accountancy Finance and a Master’s Degree in Management Systems. He is undertaking studies leading to a Level 7 Extended Diploma in Professional Consulting and certification as a Chartered Management Consultant. Carl is also a member of the Institute of Board Members where he is completing their accredited course in Non Executive Directorships.
Driven by self-improvement, Carl has a love of reading and listening to podcasts. Book recommendations include the 5AM Club by Robin Sharma, Think Like A Monk by Jay Shetty, and The Source by Dr Tara Swart. Podcasts include Feel Better, Live More by Dr Rangan Chatterjee and the Lewis Howes podcast.
Carl lives in Beverley, East Yorkshire with his wife, and 2 year old Cocker Spaniel, Willow, and enjoys dog walks in the countryside and running.
