During the May half-term, Huddersfield Town Foundation celebrated another fantastic period of Premier League Kicks activity, as young people took part in two exciting tournaments in Doncaster and Manchester.
Hosted by Club Doncaster, participants were given the unforgettable opportunity to play on the pitch at the Eco-Power Stadium, home of Doncaster Rovers. For many, this was a truly memorable experience, providing the chance to step onto a professional stage and showcase their skills in a unique and inspiring setting.
Meanwhile, a team of Kicks participants from North Huddersfield Trust proudly represented the Foundation at a tournament in Fallowfield, hosted by the Manchester United Foundation. Competing against teams from across the region, our young participants demonstrated excellent teamwork, resilience and sportsmanship throughout the day.
Both tournaments highlighted the continued impact of the Premier League Kicks programme in creating positive opportunities for young people. Beyond the football itself, these events allowed participants to build confidence, develop new friendships and represent their communities with pride.
Across both venues, the standard of play was matched by the enthusiasm and commitment shown by every participant. The tournaments provided a supportive and inclusive environment where young people could thrive, challenge themselves and enjoy being part of a wider footballing community.
Huddersfield Town Foundation remains dedicated to delivering engaging youth programmes that provide safe spaces, inspire ambition and empower young people to reach their full potential, using the power of football to help them GROW, THRIVE and BELONG.
Carla Barrick, Community Engagement Manager at Huddersfield Town Foundation, said:
“We are incredibly proud of all the young people who represented the Foundation across both tournaments during the half-term break. Opportunities like these are so important for building confidence, teamwork and a real sense of belonging.
“To see our participants step onto a stadium pitch in Doncaster and compete at a fantastic event in Manchester is a testament to their dedication and positive attitude. The Premier League Kicks programme continues to create a meaningful impact, and we’re delighted to see so many young people benefiting from it.”
