Huddersfield Town Foundation Announced as Official Charity Partner for Huddersfield Comic Con 2026

10 Feb 2026

Huddersfield Town Foundation is proud to announce its partnership with Huddersfield Comic‑Con, taking place at the Accu Stadium on Saturday 21 March 2026. Now one of the region’s most popular celebrations of film, TV, gaming and pop culture, the event returns with its biggest programme yet, offering fans of all ages a full day of immersive entertainment and creativity.

This year’s Comic‑Con will showcase an extensive collection of large‑scale replica props and iconic vehicles. Visitors will have the opportunity to see life‑sized thrones from The Little Mermaid and Game of Thrones, Ollivander’s Wand Shop from Harry Potter, and a range of instantly recognisable film and television cars. These include Face’s corvette from the A-Team, The Inbetweeners car, Bumblebee from Transformers, as well as Lightning McQueen and The King from Disney Pixar’s Cars.

Alongside the props and displays, fans will be able to meet a brilliant line‑up of international guests. Power Rangers stars Jeff Pazzaro and Kevin Duhaney will fly in from Toronto, joining fellow Toronto‑born actor Ross Mullan, known for portraying a White Walker in Game of Thrones and The Silence in Doctor Who. A wide range of superheroes, Star Wars characters, giant Transformers, traders and professional cosplayers will also be in attendance throughout the day.

This partnership reflects the Foundation’s mission to ensure people across Kirklees can GROW through opportunity, BELONG through shared experiences, and THRIVE through improved wellbeing. All profits raised from the official event programme will directly support the Foundation’s work across education, health and inclusion.

Victoria Ballard, Co‑organiser of Huddersfield Comic‑Con, said:
“To bring international guests to our home‑town Comic‑Con shows just how far the event has come since 2017. Hosting it in a stadium that means so much to the town is incredibly special, and we are delighted to be supporting the Huddersfield Town Foundation this year.”

Martin Ballard, Co‑organiser, added:
“Each year, we choose a charity that means something to us, and this year the Huddersfield Town Foundation felt like the perfect fit. Their work in the local community is vital, especially during a cost‑of‑living crisis. Providing over three million breakfasts since 2012 is an outstanding achievement, and we hope this partnership shines a light on the impact they are making across Kirklees.”

Lucy Summerton, Fundraising and Partnerships Manager at Huddersfield Town Foundation, said:
“We are incredibly grateful to be chosen as the charity partner for this year’s Huddersfield Comic‑Con. The event brings thousands of people together and showcases the best of creativity, imagination and community spirit—values that align closely with our work across Kirklees. The support raised will help us continue delivering programmes that make a tangible difference to the lives of children, young people and families in our town. We’re excited to be part of such a vibrant event and look forward to celebrating alongside everyone on the day.”

Introducing the Terry the Terrier Comic Competition

As part of this year’s collaboration, the Foundation is proud to launch a brand‑new Terry the Terrier Comic Competition, encouraging creativity and storytelling across all ages.

Participants are invited to create their own A5 comic, featuring:

  • A designed front cover

  • An 8‑panel story across a double‑page spread (four panels per page)

Entries can be produced digitally according to the size guidelines or hand‑drawn on a folded sheet of A4 paper to create the required A5 layout.

The comic must present a short, self‑contained narrative centred around Terry the Terrier as the hero—celebrating themes of teamwork, resilience, adventure or community.

Please email your submission to fundraising@hatfcfoundation.com by 5PM, Monday 2 March.
