Huddersfield Town Foundation Celebrates Caleb as Community Captain in Premier League’s ‘More Than A Game’ Campaign

16 Mar 2026

Huddersfield Town Foundation is proud to announce that 17-year-old Caleb Brown has been named the Foundation’s Community Captain as part of the Premier League’s More Than A Game campaign, recognising his exemplary attitude and the positive example he sets to younger people across our Premier League Kicks sessions in Kirklees.

Caleb is one of 93 Community Captains selected across England and Wales this season, each recognised for the outstanding difference they make in their local communities. As one of more than 1,000 young people supported annually through Premier League Kicks in Kirklees, Caleb embodies the values of respect, leadership and kindness that make the programme so impactful.

To mark the occasion, Caleb was presented with a trophy, captain’s armband and commemorative pennant by Huddersfield Town legend and current Academy coach Jon Stead, followed by a special tour of the Terriers training facilities. His leadership has been evident not only in weekly sessions, but also during the Foundation’s “Chapmanaversary” trip to Arsenal in August, where he set an outstanding example for younger participants representing the Foundation.

Caleb personifies the Foundation’s core pillars of GROW, THRIVE and BELONG. He continues to GROW in confidence through his development as a role model on and off the pitch. His supportive and encouraging nature helps others THRIVE, creating an atmosphere where younger participants feel safe, motivated and valued. And through his kindness, consistency and inclusive approach, he enables every young person around him to BELONG, building a positive environment that reflects the very best of what our Premier League Kicks sessions strive to achieve.

Chris Melotte, Higher Education Mentor at the Huddersfield Town Foundation, said:

“Caleb is a prime example of what self-confidence and kindness can create. He never fails to bring smiles to the faces of staff here at the Foundation, and is held in high regard by those to whom he gives his time. I cannot think of another young man who deserves this award more, and I am confident this is only the beginning of his success story.”

The celebration of Community Captains forms part of the Premier League’s More Than A Game campaign, highlighting the League’s long-standing commitment to community investment across the football pyramid. This includes support for non-league and grassroots clubs, women’s and girls’ football, and an extensive range of high-quality community programmes. Independent research by Substance has found that Premier League-funded community programmes will generate over £4.3 billion in social value between 2025 and 2028, improving wellbeing, health, education and community cohesion nationwide.

This year also marks the 20th anniversary of Premier League Kicks — one of the League’s longest-running community initiatives. Delivered by 93 professional clubs across more than 5,000 venues since its inception, the programme has created safe spaces for over 600,000 young people to play football, build confidence and make positive choices.

Through Premier League Kicks and wider youth engagement work, the Foundation helps young people GROW through new skills and opportunities, THRIVE through improved wellbeing and positive relationships, and BELONG by creating inclusive, trusted spaces where every young person feels valued.
