Huddersfield Town Foundation Hosts Tinsel Town Generational Lunch at Accu Stadium

22 Dec 2025

The Huddersfield Town Foundation welcomed more than 60 participants from across its community programmes on Wednesday 17 December for a special Tinsel Town Generational Lunch at the Accu Stadium.

Held in the Terriers Together Suite, the festive gathering brought together members from Walking Football, Sporting Memories and veterans who regularly attend the Foundation’s Tommy’s Lounge lunches.

The event formed part of Huddersfield Town’s wider Tinsel Town Christmas campaign, celebrating the season while giving back to the local community.

Guests enjoyed a complimentary three‑course Christmas meal before being surprised by a visit from eight First Team players, who joined in the celebrations and helped host a lively round of prize bingo.

The top prize, a framed, player‑issue Huddersfield Town shirt, proved a popular highlight.

The players appearing at the Generational Lunch were Joe Low, Ben Wiles, Marcus Harness, Lasse Sorensen, Jacob Chapman, Mickel Miller, Herbie Kane and Antony Evans.

Free community events such as the Generational Lunch support the Foundation’s mission to ensure people across the region can GROW through learning and opportunity, BELONG through connection and inclusion, and THRIVE through improved wellbeing.

Matthew Crookes, Physical Health Manager at the Huddersfield Town Foundation, said:

“Bringing people together from different generations and programmes is incredibly powerful. You could feel the sense of community in the room. People sharing stories, laughing together and enjoying a festive meal as one group.

“Events like this show how important connection is for wellbeing, and we’re proud to create spaces where everyone feels part of something special.”

Sam Dainty, CEO of the Huddersfield Town Foundation, added:

“This lunch captures exactly what the Foundation stands for. It’s about celebrating our community, supporting one another and making sure no one feels left out during the festive season.

“Seeing participants, staff and players all come together was fantastic, and it reinforces our commitment to delivering inclusive, meaningful opportunities for people across Kirklees.”

Founded in 2012, the Huddersfield Town Foundation uses the power of OUR club to create opportunities, reduce inequalities and inspire lasting change for OUR community through the delivery of projects across Kirklees and the surrounding area.
