Huddersfield Town Foundation is proud to announce the return of its Bring a Pound to the Ground fundraising campaign, taking place at the Foundation Takeover fixture on Saturday 7 March, when Huddersfield Town face Rotherham United at the John Smith’s Stadium.
The campaign invites supporters to bring just £1 to the match, with volunteers stationed around the stadium collecting donations that will directly support the Foundation’s work across Kirklees. Every pound raised will help fund programmes that create opportunities, reduce inequalities and inspire lasting change for people of all ages within the local community.
As the Club’s official charity, the Foundation delivers a wide range of impactful initiatives across education, health, sport, and youth engagement. From breakfast clubs and mental wellbeing support to inclusive sports sessions and community outreach, the Foundation’s mission is to ensure people across the region can GROW through learning and opportunity, BELONG through connection and inclusion, and THRIVE through improved wellbeing.
The Foundation Takeover fixture provides a unique platform to showcase this work, with activities, stories and volunteers visible throughout the matchday experience. Supporters will have the chance to learn more about the charity’s impact and meet the people whose lives have been transformed through its programmes.
Lucy Summerton, Fundraising and Partnership Manager at Huddersfield Town Foundation, said:
“Bring a Pound to the Ground is a simple idea that makes a huge difference. When thousands of supporters each give just £1, the collective impact is incredible. Every donation helps us reach more people, deliver more programmes and create more opportunities across Kirklees. We’re grateful for the generosity of our fans and can’t wait to see the stadium come together for this year’s campaign.”
