Rishworth School and Huddersfield Town Foundation are delighted to announce an exciting new partnership, creating a high-performance football pathway for talented girls and boys aged 11-18.
Led by UEFA-licenced coaches, this innovative programme enables both day and boarding students, from Year 6 through to Sixth Form, to combine elite-level coaching with academic excellence. Built on over 300 years of educational heritage, Rishworth School offers a structured and supportive environment where students can develop both on the pitch and in the classroom.
The pathway is delivered by Dan Jarvis, Senior Education Manager at Huddersfield Town Foundation, alongside Andy Thomas, Director of Football at Rishworth School. Together, they bring extensive professional football expertise and a commitment to personalised education, helping to shape the next generation of student-athletes.
Dan Jarvis, who oversees the programme and has a wealth of experience across elite football and education, including roles within the Huddersfield Town Academy and The Football Association, said:
“This partnership provides a fantastic opportunity to offer young players a genuine pathway that combines education and elite football. At Huddersfield Town Foundation, we are passionate about delivering high-quality programmes that develop not only technical ability but also character, confidence, and long-term prospects. Rishworth School provides the ideal environment to bring this vision to life.”
With international experience and significant involvement in the women’s talent pathway, Dan’s leadership strengthens the programme’s inclusive and forward-thinking approach.
Andy Thomas, added:
“This partnership goes far beyond football performance. It’s about developing well-rounded individuals who are confident, resilient, and prepared for their future - whether in sport, higher education, or beyond. By combining elite coaching with a strong academic framework, we are creating an environment where every student can succeed.”
Set within a stunning Yorkshire campus, Rishworth School offers exceptional training facilities including grass and 3G pitches, a MUGA pitch, indoor sports centre, fully equipped gym, and swimming pool. Students will also benefit from opportunities to train at Huddersfield Town’s professional facilities and gain exposure to club scouts.
The programme supports long-term progression beyond school through a partnership with the University of South Wales, offering degree pathways in football coaching, sports development, and sports business while continuing to train in a professional environment.
Designed to develop both technical ability and key personal qualities such as resilience, confidence, and professionalism, the pathway responds to the growing demand for holistic athlete development within education and football.
Rishworth School welcomes applications from UK and international students.
