STADA THORNTON & ROSS AND HUDDERSFIELD TOWN FOUNDATION COME TOGETHER TO TACKLE HEALTH INEQUALITIES ACROSS KIRKLEES

23 Jun 2026

Leading pharmaceutical manufacturer STADA Thornton & Ross, which has operated in Colne Valley for generations and is one of the largest employers of local residents in Kirklees, has announced its partnership with Huddersfield Town Foundation, the official charity of Huddersfield Town FC, to make a real difference by combining resources to support community health programmes.

STADA Thornton & Ross is the new Health and Wellbeing Partner for Huddersfield Town Foundation. Together, the two organisations are aiming to improve health and wellbeing outcomes for people across Kirklees through a series of community-focused programmes and initiatives throughout 2026 and 2027.

STADA Thornton & Ross is one of the UK’s leading producers of consumer healthcare products, with a portfolio of well-known, and well-loved household products, including Covonia®, Savlon®, Hedrin®, Nizoral®, Cetraben® and Zoflora®.

This collaboration brings together two organisations that have deep roots in the local community. The partnership’s primary focus is to drive measurable improvements in both physical and mental wellbeing, while encouraging healthier lifestyles across Kirklees.

Local data reinforces the need for action, with 66 per cent of parents concerned about access to mental health support, highlighting the importance of targeted, community-based interventions to improve outcomes across Kirklees.

As part of the programme, Huddersfield Town Foundation will deliver a six-week health and wellbeing curriculum in schools across Kirklees, alongside free community football sessions in Linthwaite. Additional activities will support older people through engagement in care homes and day centres, helping to tackle loneliness, improve mobility, and promote self-care.

James Collett, CFO at STADA Thornton & Ross, said: “Having lived and worked in the area for more than 30 years, I’m excited to see the positive impact this collaboration will have.

“As a business that has been a proud part of the Kirklees community for generations, we are delighted to partner with Huddersfield Town Foundation. Together, we share a purpose of improving lives and caring for people’s health.

“This partnership enables us to extend our purpose beyond our much-loved brands and healthcare products we provide every day, creating meaningful opportunities and networks to support wellbeing in the communities where our colleagues live and work.”

Sam Dainty, Chief Executive of the Huddersfield Town Foundation, added: "We’re delighted to be partnering with STADA Thornton & Ross, an organisation that shares our commitment to improving health and wellbeing across our communities.

“This partnership will allow us to reach more people with programmes that make a real difference to their lives. By combining the Foundation’s experience of working in communities with STADA’s expertise in healthcare and prevention, we can create lasting positive impact for people across Kirklees."

Alongside the delivery of community programmes, the partnership will also include a schedule of engagement activities and events for STADA Thornton & Ross employees, including health activations, match tickets and educational workshops.
