Young people from Huddersfield Town Foundation joined participants from across England and Wales at the Premier League Disability Football Festival 2026, held at Burnley in the Community on Wednesday 8 July.
The national event, delivered by the Premier League in partnership with club community organisations, celebrated the achievements of participants involved in Premier League Kicks, Premier League Primary Stars and Premier League Inspires programmes. The festival brought together young people from different backgrounds and communities for a day of football, workshops and personal development actitvies.
Representing Huddersfield Town Foundation were PL Kicks participants from Central Stars Youth Club, who were proudly selected and supported on the day by youth worker John Field in recognition of their dedication, positive attitude and commitment shown across the year. Throughout the day, young people had the opportunity to meet peers from across the country, develop new friendships and take part in a range of inclusive activities designed to build confidence and celebrate individual achievements.
The festival highlighted the power of football to bring people together and create positive experiences for young people with disabilities, while providing a platform to showcase talent, teamwork and personal growth.
Elliot Haigh, Community Engagement Coach at Huddersfield Town Foundation, said:
"We were incredibly proud to see our young people representing Huddersfield Town Foundation at the Premier League Disability Football Festival. Opportunities like this allow participants to celebrate their achievements, build new friendships and gain experiences that extend far beyond football.
"The enthusiasm and positive attitude shown by everyone throughout the day was fantastic and they were excellent ambassadors for the Foundation. It was inspiring to see so many young people coming together to enjoy football in an inclusive environment where everyone felt valued and supported."
The event forms part of the Premier League's ongoing investment in community programmes delivered through the Premier League Foundation, supporting children and young people to develop confidence, life skills and positive relationships through football and sport.
The Premier League Foundation is one of the world's largest sporting charities, supporting professional football club charities to deliver community and school-based programmes across England and Wales. More than 2.5 million individuals have benefitted from Premier League Foundation-supported activity since its launch in 2010.
