CARLOS’ COMMUNITY CHALLENGE GIVES YOU THE CHANCE TO GET ACTIVE!

Now that restrictions on outdoor physical activity have eased, the Huddersfield Town Foundation has an exciting challenge for you to take part in!

Centred around Huddersfield Town Head Coach Carlos Corberán, ‘Carlos’ Community Challenge’ is designed to get your heart rate pumping while collaborating to a team effort.

Open to supporters, players and Club and Foundation staff, the aim is to clock up 2,260 miles collectively, the same distance from the John Smith’s Stadium to Corberán’s hometown of Cheste and back.

However you complete those miles is completely up to you – you could run, walk, cycle, swim, hike or dance your way there. If you come up with something different, that’s great!

To record the number of miles completed we have set up a club on Strava, which you can join by CLICKING HERE.

Once you’ve become a member of the club, you will be able to share your recent activity, follow other members and post about what you’re up to.

We aim to complete the challenge within the next four weeks, with the final day being Friday 7 May.

Make sure you follow the Town Foundation on Social Media for regular updates on miles completed – you can find us on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.

It would also be great if you could share photos and videos of yourself completing your activity with us, using the hashtag #Carloschallenge. We will be picking some at random to receive Town-related prizes!

Physical activity has a vast range of health benefits, including weight loss. The Town Foundation recently launched its first 12-week Weight Management programme, aimed at adults aged 40+ with a BMI between 30 and 50. You can find out more about the scheme HERE.

The Town Foundation also runs weekly Thursday football sessions at Leeds Road Sports Complex, aimed at adults receiving extra support with their mental health.

These sessions provide a relaxed environment for participants to play football, meet new people, share their experiences and gain advice where needed.

If you would be interested in joining the next cohort of our Weight Management programme or taking part in a Mental Health Football session, please contact evan.hall@htafcfoundation.com in the first instance.
