Mental health and wellbeing support for adults and children

3 Oct 2025

Huddersfield Town Foundation offers an extensive range of supportive programmes aimed to improve the physical health, mental health and wellbeing of adults and children within our community.

For adults, there are a range of weekly sessions designed to improve mental health and increase physical activity.

Most notably, the Foundation delivers weekly Wellbeing Football sessions for adults with lived experience of, or are currently experiencing, poor mental health.

Wellbeing Football is free to attend with sessions taking place every Thursday, 11:30am until 12:30pm at Leeds Road Sports Complex.

The sessions include small-sided games in a safe and supportive environment, if you’re interested in participating, please contact help@htafcfoundation.com.

Children are supported through a range of enrichment programmes to help fulfil their potential.

Through the delivery of our Premier League Charitable Funded programmes, including Primary Stars, pupils are supported through a range of interventions, which have a positive impact on their mental health & wellbeing.

All delivery is carefully crafted to help participants reach their full potential on the pitch and in the classroom.

Huddersfield Town Foundation also delivers Premier League Inspires: a programme which uses the power of football to inspire young people aged 11-18 to develop their personal skills and positive attitudes to succeed in life.

As part of the Premier League Inspires and Premier League Kicks programmes, participants can take part in Premier League Changemakers, which encourages participation in gender equality and mental health social action projects.

Similarly, our Inspires, Kicks and Children in Care programmes supports young people at risk with positive, free diversionary activities at various sites within Kirklees.

Huddersfield Town Foundation’s staff also deliver topic-specific workshops, mentoring, one to one support and physical activity sessions for young people in our community.
