Walking Football

Our Walking Football Offer

Our Walking Football offer aims to create inclusive environments for adults who want to continue their football career, or to try something completely new. It’s a great way to stay physically fit and socially active.

As the name suggests, Walking Football is played at a slower pace on small-sided pitches. The threat of injury and accidents is reduced by not playing the ball above head height, playing no contact rules, and by reducing the impact by walking.

Our mixed sessions are suitable for those aged 50+, whilst our women’s sessions are open to those aged 18+. All sessions are free to attend and lead by qualified Huddersfield Town Foundation staff.

  • "Since I started playing walking football with the Foundation about five years ago in my early fifties, I have become reinvigorated in both my physical and mental health. It has helped me get through some tough times as well, such as a heart attack, a stroke, family bereavement and more."
